We have a child-rapist for a president, and people are being disappeared off the street and sent to torture prisons. Why were they considering coming here in the first place?

Everyone is vulnerable, 99% do not have the means. Where would they even go? Draftees fled to Canada during Nam, the current dynamics are much different since the US govt is doing everything it can to break historic relationships. Both countries are also carefully negotiating trade pact to include things like making refugee status harder to obtain. Only fair the rest of the world do it, but “y’all should just leave” hardly helpful as an answer

        • Yes everyone is vulnerable, but some people are much more vulnerable than others. Saying everyone is vulnerable carries the same energy as “all lives matter”.

Yes things are tough globally but some people do have the means to escape. My partner and I did and we’re not particularly wealthy. Hell, she’s been unemployed for a year, we just got lucky. The easiest way to get a visa elsewhere is through work or study. Some people also have family or citizenship in other countries that also helps. If you have an escape rope and you are of the demographics that are being slowly genocided or sent to torture camps in El Salvador, it’s not worth staying here.

I’m not even disagreeing with you necessarily. Having moved internationally myself, I can say that moving internationally is INCREDIBLY hard. But when you’re effectively receiving death threats from the government, you can’t just freeze and let the fascists steamroll you. You have to decide between fight or flight.

Making US refugees share tents with the mass deportees and temporarily unhoused immigrants who no longer are attempting to enter the US would be fitting, but not a great pitch for Americans looking for somewhere peaceful and stable to land.

No one should go to the US, it isn’t safe and certainly not worth the risk. Spend your time and money in a free country.

I want tourism to be down by a lot so that people notice a difference. tRump won’t notice because his yes men will say it’s up by a thousand percent, but voters might notice. The more this country hurts in the short term, the better the chance it has to fix itself in the long term.

The average maga voter probably wont because next month GDP is gonna be up eleventy billion percent, we will add a million billion jobs and unemployment will be negative one hundred percent. They will see these numbers and the stock market will continue to go brr.

As long as dear leader is in charge acknowledging anything is amiss in the economy will be considered treason.

Some people I know are off to Florida for a few weeks (we’re European). I joked with one of them that they should try not to get detained by immigration. I think the joke flew over their head though… Lol

“And slowly, but surely, all the doors in and out of America shut. Tourism gradually died out and a country once prized as the most successful international hub of the world became a sealed bubble. Once their isolation was complete, global powers once held in check by America’s might, had a free hand to expand their imperial ambitions and make their move. Taiwan was annexed in 3 months. Most of Eastern Europe fell a year later. In the face of such overwhelming might even Western European countries bent the knee rather than risk nuclear annihilation. Finally Russia’s might was restored and all that was left was to wait for the once powerful but now isolated bubble that was America to collapse in on itself. Then, it would be a simple matter to take it. Possibly even without a shot being fired. " Comrade Putin!.. Comrade Putin you asked to be woken up… you seemed to be shaking and grinning in your sleep. Are you alright? I must say that is an impressive boner sir! What were you dreaming about?”

More likely they are worried about getting locked up in jails for weeks for illegally seeking work in the US by selling cookies.

This is not that far off. There was a recent lawsuit about the LA roundup of immigrants, arguing they were profiled based on race and language.

The judge ordered that, when conducting such operations, the government must stop relying on factors such as race, ethnicity, speaking Spanish, speaking English with an accent, presence at a particular location, or type of work. (emphasis mine)

In addition, after Alligator Alcatraz (Auschwitz) opened, Laura Loomer tweeted

“Alligator lives matter. The good news is, alligators are guaranteed 65 million meals if we get started now.”

There are 65 million Hispanic people in the US.

These are very real threats. Right now they’re still showing restraint in who they round up, but the day is coming when they will openly start kidnapping people you know. This must stop. Americans need to organize and resist.
