Walter Presents (on PBS) does this annoying thing where some seasons of a show will be under one name and others will be under a completely different name, and there are no indications that they’re the same show since the season numbering restarts.
Sometimes I get it, like with “SOKO Potsdam”: The English name they originally gave the show was “Luna and Sophie” but both actresses left the show, so now the later seasons are under a more generic name “Partners in Crime: Potsdam Homicide”
What I don’t get is why they did the same thing with “Jeux d’influence” since the original cast came back for season 2 and it’s very clearly a continuation of season 1.
Today I learned that German shows have an international audience. I wouldn’t have thought that.
@bleistift2@sopuli.xyz The most popular one is Dark, but yeah plenty of crime dramas are pretty popular
Their police dramas certainly do!
Sometimes the distributor markets a season under a different title.
@ohulancutash@feddit.uk Oh that’s worse than I thought. Now I’m even more confused about why this is a thing
