I think the Iroquois Nation counts. They certainly had representative government that included the minority parties in decision making. It didn’t look like democracy because it wasn’t modeled after the Greeks or Romans. They’d never heard of them.

There’s a reason the big H worked on his public speaking. To convince people his wacky ideas were right.

I really thought we were gonna talk about why there are so many cars with punisher decals and the like.
If OP wants to know why Punisher is plastered on so many cars, it’s because of bigotry.

After having so easily made this posturing move, next time, they will have this language available to them, with more severe and less legal consequences.
In my head, I keep going back to that fascist guy that Medhi Hasan got sat down with. These fuckers would pick up the ball and run with it in a soccer game, chuck the ball in the goal, keep their own score and time, then jog off the field pumping up the 10% of the crowd that’s on their side.
It’d be funny if they were just deluded, but they are setting it up so they can deport or arrest anyone that doesn’t cheer.
Frfr… better than anything from Warhol.

Is anyone else getting usenet vibes with this domain structure? I wonder if there’s anything we can learn from that past experience that we aren’t doing with lemmy right now. I wonder how many people were active on usenet in its heyday, and are hanging out on lemmy now.
Oh man, this is a cool feeling. It feels like fresh air after 20 years of using all those other corporate run sites. We have a future to look forward to, because the now is pretty chill with you lemmings!

I think every successful linux journey starts with an enthusiastic user. Whatever the newbie is excited about is a good choice. That’s what carries you through solving the tough issues, feeling like you’re winning the whole time, and that means different things to different people.
You need to spend 100 million. And that’s a threat of the weight of the billions behind it. Anyone thinking they can scrape small donations together to fight on their turf is bonkers.
