Ubuntu was, and still is, to a new user, just as easy to set up as it is to break. Every Debian based distro that tries to “fix” the outdated packages “problem” suffers from that.

Free as in “you’re free to use the system, and tell it what to do”, not only as in “you can use it for free”.

Proprietary often means “support, as long as we have to, then fuck you”.

There’s a simple solution to this: if Red Hat doesn’t like the guy or his code, don’t fucking use it. They’re the ones who banned him from Xorg and reverted his changes.
