2·3 days agoMy son was looking over my shoulder, or vice-versa, while I bitched about that. It was bikes or motorcycles and I’d always click if I thought there was any amount of it in a picture. He told me not to be so precise, as in, if there’s a tiny bit of handlebar, didn’t count it. That seems to work better… unless it doesn’t like my VPN or whatever, in which case it’s never ending
3·3 days agoI’m also confused as to why. I use a commercial connection oven a lot. From my experience, convection decreases cooking time (obviously) and gets a better crisp. I don’t see how that helps the issue of preventing overcooked outside and/or undercooked inside. If anything, I’d think it makes it more of a problem. Isn’t it the conduction through the food that the determining factor?

It was just on my mind because I’ve been doing a lot of long drives (like 4hrs twice a week) and they’ve kept me sane. They’re very funny, or maybe I just start to go delirious and slap happy. Huge back catalog.

Dimensional analysis needs to be taught way sooner (referring to USA education here). I’m sure I had some sense of it earlier, but it wasn’t explicitly spelled out to me until college engineering courses. That’s despite taking a significant number of AP and community college math and science courses in highschool. It seems like it should be part of middle school.
