With preparations for the 2030 census already underway, Trump said Thursday he has instructed his administration to start work on a “new” census.

According to a social media post by Trump, that census would exclude millions of people living in the country without legal status — an unprecedented change to how the country has conducted population tallies since the first U.S. census in 1790.

The 14th Amendment requires the “whole number of persons in each state” to be included in a key set of census numbers used to determine how presidents and members of Congress are elected.

Yes, but so is the house of rep allocation. And the info is used in redistricting. The goal is to cause blue areas to lose seats and red areas to gain seats.

How would that work? Rural areas actually have a lot of immigrants. I live in a rural area and it’s probably 20% immigrants. This seems like it would hurt rural areas more than the blue cities.

… you think racists think things through? I was relaying their dumbass logic, not what would actually happen.

Lol fair enough, I feel like it’s the same people who use undocumented workers are now surprised that the guy who ran on deporting everyone who isn’t a white male is deporting their income at this point. The complete stupidity of the right-wing is just baffling.
