They show their priorities again and again.

    Epstein list?

Trump sending thousands of payments to epstein?

Nope, gotta shut down government to avoid it.

Letting trump keep a plane that Saudi’s tricked us into taking cause its more expensive to renovate it than to buy a replacement, but its no big deal cause we’re taking away peoples healthcare to pay for it? Urgent issue. MUST VOTE.

Plot twist: he’s not leaving office. Don’t tell me about the 22nd amendment. He’s already in office in violation of the 14th. He’s not dying anytime soon either. Rotten fucks like him always live well into their 90s, fueled by hate. Just look at Rupert Murdoch.

Murdoch’s age is just insane. His fucking father was a stain on humanity during fucking WWI, and that dude was already in his 30s at the time.

Oh but they does. Keith Murdoch (Rupert’s father) was born in 1885 so was 29 at the outbreak of WWI. Rupert (literally Keith Rupert Murdoch) was born in 1931 when his father was 46.

I said “that dude was already in his 30s” and I meant daddy Keith. Never mind, they’re both pieces of shit. The only reason Keith is less of a piece of shit is that he’s long dead.

Even if the plane itself was “free”, they are voting to make a $1B gift (the cost to retrofit the plane) from tax money to one guy personally?

Everyone has been put under a normalization spell, the trauma was too intense too long. I tried explaining to another liberal my fears about this term’s version of the January 6 insurrection, he looked at me like I was crazy. People are trained to believe the ping-pong will go on forever, save and easy.

“None of it was ‘gunna happen’ and it just kept right happening anyway!”

They say it’s our thumbs and big brains that are our super power but I swear, our ability to pretend like everything is fine despite overwhelming evidence is something truly incredible.

Peaceful transfers of power? You had a civil war over the transfer of power a century and a half ago, and “transfers of power” via assassination are common enough for the President to be the most dangerous job in your country. The “Can’t Happen Here” is due to a constant flood of exceptionalist propaganda; it has nothing to do with your track record.

The funny thing is that Christians always say “you can’t take it with you when you die”, so maybe they made a deal with god to get an exception?

He might have to leave bcz he doesn’t know who he is. Trust me on this one, dude is barely lucid most days. If he croaks before the end of his term, it’ll be a good day for USA’ians. Even if it doesn’t fix the problem entirely, he’s a shit stain on the human race.

Trump might be able to pull off keeping the Oval Office. Vance will not.

I agree with you that there is a significant chance J.D. Vance would do more to harm the US and the World than Trump ever could, you don’t have to be such a jerk about it. Being right doesn’t give you permission to be mean.

So much of our government worked on the idea that nobody would be brazen enough to break convention, and the untested belief that voters would immediately and vehemently reject anyone trying to openly abuse their power.

We now know both of those assumptions were wrong.

That’s the part that doesn’t make sense to me. It’s either a gift to him, and it’s his problem to take care of, or a gift to the government, and their problem.

When you get elected president your car(s) doesn’t suddenly get overhauled with bullet proof glass and security features paid for by the government. You hop in a government provided vehicle, and when you leave (outside of specific instances and time frames) you hop back in your normal car and live your life. Sure the secret service is around for things, but George Bush buys a truck from dealership, it doesn’t get taken to a military installation and reworked with our taxes.

Ex-presidents are banned from driving unless they have declined secret service protection.

And their properties are renovated at taxpayer expense to add secure communications, guardhouses, helipads and covered space for vehicles.

This is a really good case for sabotaging the retrofit. Slow it wwwwaaaaaayyyyy doooowwwnnn, and do all the merely cosmetic tacky gilt stuff first. Once he retires, the protective shielding and communications and weaponry won’t be necessary anymore. And he won’t care, as long as it looks lavish enough.

Also I think we really need to start using “retires” rather than “leaves office.” Or “goes private” if it seems like he doesn’t want to feel old enough for retirement. We have to make it seem like something he’d want. If we really made it appealing he’d quit early, because he’s sure the fuck not doing this job for the sake of the nation.
